A unique letterpress hand bound publication, only ten copies have been made. This limited edition publication explores my relationship to dyslexia and the characteristic traits that are a part of my everyday life. Letterpress is a hands on process that requires you to pick out every single letter by hand to create segments of type. The process takes concentration and focus as the type is mirrored and written backwards, so that when it is printed the letters are in the right direction. I have always found it ironic that I enjoy this process, especially as I’m dyslexic, but being dyslexia has a hidden advantage. Dyslexics often see letters as 3D shapes which is why we flip letters. So a type face written backwards isn’t too much of an issue. Letterpress has allowed me to explore and challenge my dyslexia. This publication is a celebration of dyslexia and all the wonderful madness that comes with it.
